In Name and Blood
The Murder City Devils includes: Dann Gallucci (vocals, guitar, Mellotron); Nate Manny (vocals, guitar); Derek Fudesco (vocals, bass); Coady Willis (vocals, drums); Spencer Moody (vocals); Lesley Hardy (organ, keyboards).
Additional personnel includes: Ron Heathman (guitar); Kim Warnick (background vocals).
Recorded at Robert Lang Studios, Shoreline, Washington.
By the time of 2000's IN NAME AND BLOOD, the punk fury of Seattle's Murder City Devils had been polished and tempered to a crisp menace. Spencer Moody still lives up to his surname with plenty of Henry Rollins-worthy rasping, and keyboardist Leslie Hardy continues to bring out the band's trademark ghoulish garage atmosphere. Their biggest progression can be heard on tracks like "Idle Hands," which let the rhythm section drive Moody and Hardy forward rather than collapse shambolically around them. While credit can be given to producer John Agnello, the Devils themselves decaffeinate a bit on BLOOD, but the good times still raucously flow.
